• LAVENDER
(Lavendula officinalis)
has a fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma that is soothing and refreshing.
Because it is the most versatile of all essential oils, no home should be without it.
Lavender is an adaptogen, and therefore can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances.
It is a great aid for
relaxing and winding down before bedtime, yet has balancing properties that
can also boost stamina and energy. Therapeutic-grade lavender is highly regarded for skin and beauty.
It may be used to soothe and cleanse common cuts, bruises, and skin irritations.
The French scientist René Gattefossé
was among the first to discover these properties when he was severely burned in a laboratory explosion.
Lavender may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods.
How to use: Diffuse or apply topically.
Because lavender has a wide range of uses, if you are unsure which oil to apply, use lavender.
Safe for use on small children. May also be added to food, or goat or rice milk as a dietary supplement.
• PEPPERMINT
Peppermint (mentha piperita)
has a strong, clean, fresh, minty aroma. Peppermintis one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for
soothing digestion, it may also restore digestive efficiency.*
Jean Valnet MD studied peppermint's supportive effect on the liver and respiratory systems.
Other scientists have also researched peppermint's role in improving taste and smell when inhaled.
Dr. William N. Dember of the University of Cincinnati studied peppermint's ability to
improve concentration and mental sharpness. Alan Hirsch MD studied peppermint's ability to
directly affect the brain's satiety center, which triggers a sensation of fullness after meals.
This powerful essential oil is often diluted before topical application.
Peppermint may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.
How to use: Diffuse. Massage on the stomach or add to water or tea for supporting normal
digestion. Apply to bottom of feet to cool off on a hot day. Rub on the temples for a calming effect,
or place several drops on the tongue as an invigorating pick-me-up. A wonderful flavoring and preservative.
Caution:
Avoid contact with eyes, mucus membranes, or sensitive skin areas.
Do not apply neat to a fresh wound or burn.
• LEMON
Lemon (Citrus limon) has a strong, purifying, citrus
scent that is revitalizing and uplifting. Lemon consists of 68 percent dlimonene, a powerful antioxidant.
It is delightfully refreshing in water and may serve well as be an insect
repellent, as well as beneficial for the skin. Lemon may also be used to enhance
the flavor of foods. Lemon essential oil is cold-pressed from the rinds of lemons.
Jean Valnet MD estimated that it takes 3,000 lemons to produce one kilo of oil.
In his book, The Practice of Aromatherapy, Valnet
wrote that lemon is a tonic for supporting the nervous and sympathetic nervous system.*
How to use: Diffuse or add a few drops to a spray bottle to deodorize an
d sterilize the air. Use for removing gum, oil, or grease spots. Add to fo
od or goat or rice milk as a dietary supplement or flavoring.
Caution:
Citrus oils should NOT be applied to skin that will be exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light
within 72 hours.
• THIEVES
Thieves Oil Blend - was created from research about four thieves during the 15th-century plague who used cloves,
rosemary, and other aromatics to protect themselves while robbing plague victims. Thieves is a proprietary blend
of pure essential oils tested at Weber State University, Ogden, Utah, and found to have a 99.96 percent effective
rate against airborne bacteria. This blend is an integral ingredient in a line of "Thieves Products" including
toothpaste, soaps and lozenges.
How to use: For dietary, aromatic, or topical use. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in
4 fl. oz. of liquid such as goat's or rice milk. Apply to the bottom of the feet or dilute with V-6 Mixing Oil
or Massage Oil Base for a stimulating massage under the arms and on the chest at the base of the neck.
Diffuse for short periods of time (1/2 hour or less) in the work or home environment.
Ingredients: Clove (Syzygium aromaticum), lemon (Citrus limon), cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum),
Eucalyptus radiata, and rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis).
• FRANKINCENSE
Frankincense (Boswellia Carteri)is considered the holy oil
in the Middle East and was used religiously for thousands of years. It was well known for its healing powers
during the time of Christ. It is now being researched and used therapeutically in European hospitals.
It is anticatarrhal, prevents scarring, antitumoral, immune-stimulating, and antidepressant.
It is stimulating and elevating to the mind and helps in overcoming depression.
Frankincense oil may help with allergies, bites, (insect and snake), bronchitis, cancer, respiratory infections,
diphtheria, headaches, hemorrhaging, herpes, high blood pressure, inflammation, stress, tonsillitis, typhoid and
warts.
Frankincense contains sesquiterpenes, enabling it to go beyond the blood brain barrier. it increases the
activity of the body against infection. (Also being researched for its effects on cancer).
Frankincense (Boswellia carteri) may be a good candidate for prevention of cancer and for cancer metastasis.
Study done by Zhao et al. (2003) published in Cancer Detection and Prevention found that a substance called
BC-4, an isomeric compound isolated from Boswellia carteri, may reduce cancerous cell production and metastasis
(spread of cancerous cells from one part of the body to another).
• VALOR
Valor™ helps balance electrical energies within the
body, giving you courage, confidence, and self-esteem. It has also been found to help the body self-correct
its balance and alignment. Known as "Chiropractor in a bottle".
How to use: Apply on bottoms of feet and to throat, wrists, chest, and the base of the neck.
When using a series of oils, such as in Raindrop Technique,
apply Valor first and let it work for five to ten minutes before applying other oils.
Ingredients: Spruce (Picea mariana), rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora), blue tansy (Tanacetum annuum),
and frankincense (Boswellia carteri) in a base of almond oil.

Ingredients: Tangerine (Citrus nobilis), orange (Citrus aurantium), ylang ylang (Cananga odorata), patchouli
(Pogostemon cablin), and blue tansy (Tanacetum annuum).
How to use: Diffuse in bedrooms, living areas, and office. Apply to bottom of feet, wrists, and
outside of ears. Blend with V-6 Mixing Oil or Massage Oil Base for a calming massage.
• PURIFICATION
Purification® can be used directly on the skin to
cleanse and soothe insect bites, cuts, and scrapes.
Always remember to use purification on any insect bite especially poisonous insect bites to neutralize the poison.
When diffused, it helps to purify and cleanse the air from
environmental impurities including cigarette smoke and other disagreeable odors.
How to use: Diffuse, apply topically, or put on cotton balls to place in air
vents of home, car, hotel room, and office. Diffuse and rub on feet during cleansing.
